I hold two types of semiannual events per year. Recitals and Master Classes. Both are great ways for students to perform, interact, and share their progress with others.
Recitals:
Recitals are semiannual "talent show" events where students perform the songs they have perfected for an audience that includes family, friends, other students, and their respective guests. I want students to be proud of their hard work and have a venue to show off their dedication in a more formal setting.
Master Classes:
Master Classes are "group lesson" style events where students get together on a Saturday morning, at my home, to perform their current songs for each other, give kind, constructive feedback, and get to know each other in a less formal environment than the traditional recital. Parent attendance is not required, but you are always more than welcome to attend.
Both events are NOT mandatory, but all students are high encouraged and trained during lessons to participate in both.
